About Me: Hannah // Han Jiyun 이지연 Lee

I am a researcher, designer and coach: a truth seeker. Born in Los Angeles and based in New York, I have spent my career exploring the power of curiosity - what happens when people choose to get curious with one another and themselves. As a queer Korean American, I am passionate about traversing liminal spaces - the spaces that feel messy to navigate and that can be daunting to face alone. I believe that asking questions is where our journeys begin and that with support, new possibilities can emerge.

A seasoned research and design leader, I have over a decade of cross-vertical experience answering questions for some of the world’s largest startups and Fortune 500 brands. I turn to a broad methodological toolkit spanning ethnographic interviews, in-depth interviews, diary studies, co-creation sessions (and more) to answer them - and with client and supply side experience, I have delivered expansive insights to cross-functional teams of all sizes. I am a creative storyteller who is passionate about designing frameworks to understand underlying needs, behaviors and attitudes and a designer who loves to think in systems. I have spoken to thousands of people, wading through their stories, to confront the big, complex, ambiguous questions.

I also bring my unique ability to arrive at the truth to my coaching practice. I use a holistic approach to partner with clients to uncover the answers within themselves; they’re already there! My approach celebrates our full selves - the beautiful interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit. It is an approach that reveals that our work selves are the same selves that we bring to our relationships outside of work and that tending to one is tending to the other. A researcher, a designer, a coach or something else entirely, I am a bridge to the truths that live within and around us.

I am in a constant state of emergence and becoming, and I am ready to be shaped by the new things that come my way. See an opportunity for us to collaborate? Feel free to say hi.
